Tuberculosis (TB) is a potentially serious infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs and is caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Causes
- Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria
- Spread through airborne droplets from coughs/sneezes

- Antibiotic treatment (6-9 months)
- Directly observed therapy (DOT)
- Hospitalization (in severe cases)
- Supportive care
Prevention
- BCG vaccine
- Screening for high-risk groups
- Proper ventilation
- Wearing masks in high-risk areas
- Complete prescribed medication
